Meet Attorney Michael George
Raised in Gainesville, Georgia, Michael attended Chestatee High School, where he was actively involved in sports and academics. He played soccer, ran cross country, and competed on the academic bowl team.
Michael pursued his higher education at Georgia College and State University, graduating with honors in English Literature. As a standout member of the Honors Program, he received the Research Award for his Scholars Project and took on leadership roles, including induction into Omicron Delta Kappa and serving as Attorney General for the Student Government.
Legal Education and Achievements
Michael went on to attend Mercer University School of Law, where he earned Dean’s List honors and received an Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting Certificate from the nation’s #1-ranked legal writing program. His strengths in argumentation and negotiation led him to compete in Moot Court and negotiation teams, and he also coached his peers in legal competitions.
Prosecutorial Experience and Legal Career
Michael’s legal career has been dedicated to helping those harmed by others. He began as an Assistant District Attorney in the District Attorney’s Office in Gilmer County, part of the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. Within a year, he became lead prosecutor for Gilmer County. While there, he joined the GBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, where he provided specialized law enforcement training across Georgia, working with local officers and federal agents.
After his time in the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, Michael became an Assistant Solicitor General in the Hall County Solicitor’s Office, where he prosecuted cases. During this time, he also taught report writing at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Regional Police Academy in Athens. With extensive trial experience, he also trained other attorneys in trial advocacy, further honing his courtroom skills.
Personal Injury Law at Weaver Law Firm
Michael later joined Weaver Law Firm, where he now specializes in representing injury victims in cases such as:
- Car Accidents – Advocating for victims of negligent drivers.
- Dog Bites – Helping clients seek compensation for severe injuries.
- Negligent Security – Holding property owners accountable for unsafe conditions.
With his prosecutorial background and extensive trial experience, Michael is well-equipped to challenge low-ball settlement offers from insurance companies. Known for his rigorous trial preparation and strong advocacy, he ensures his clients receive the fair compensation they deserve.
Community Involvement and Personal Life
Michael is married to Allyson George, an elementary school teacher at Chicopee Woods Elementary School. Together, they enjoy exploring new places with their young son. Their family attends Corinth Baptist Church in Gainesville, and they share their home with two beloved dogs: Henrietta (a Boxer) and Franklin (a Golden Retriever).
Outside of work, Michael enjoys reading, traveling, and engaging in activities that spark his son’s curiosity.
Since 2023, he has also served on the Board of Directors for SISU Integrated Early Learning (formerly Challenged Child and Friends), helping children with special needs access educational resources.
