Meet Attorney Michael George
Raised in Gainesville, Michael attended Chestatee High School, where he played soccer, ran cross country, and competed on the academic bowl team. He graduated with honors from Georgia College and State University, majoring in English Literature. As a standout member of the Honors Program, he received the Research Award for his Scholars Project and held leadership roles, including induction into Omicron Delta Kappa and serving as Attorney General for the Student Government.
Michael attended Mercer University School of Law, where he achieved Dean’s List honors and earned an Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting Certificate while Mercer’s legal writing program was ranked first nationally. His talents in argumentation and negotiation led him to compete on multiple Moot Court and negotiation teams. Additionally, he shared his expertise by coaching his peers in legal competitions.
Throughout his legal career, Michael has focused on helping those hurt by others. He began as an Assistant District Attorney in the District Attorney’s Office in Gilmer County, part of the Appalachian Judicial Circuit. Within a year, he became the lead prosecutor for Gilmer County. During his time there, he joined the GBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, delivering specialized training across Georgia to law enforcement officers at all levels, from local officers to federal agents.
After his time with the Appalachian Judicial Circuit, Michael became an Assistant Solicitor General in the Hall County Solicitor’s Office. There, he prosecuted crimes such as domestic violence, DUI, and traffic-related offenses. He also taught report writing at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Regional Police Academy in Athens. Michael conducted numerous trials and trained others in trial advocacy, preparing him to represent clients effectively.
Following his time as a prosecutor, Michael joined the Weaver Law Firm. He specializes in cases where clients have been harmed by others, such as car accidents, dog bites, and negligent security. His extensive trial experience and prosecutorial background equip him to challenge low-ball settlement offers and secure fair outcomes. Known for his rigorous trial preparation, Michael is a steadfast advocate for his clients’ rights and is committed to standing up for those in need.
Michael is married to Allyson George, an elementary school teacher at Chicopee Woods Elementary School. Together, they enjoy adventuring with their young son and exploring new places. As a family, they attend Corinth Baptist Church in Gainesville and share their home with two dogs, Henrietta, a boxer, and Franklin, a golden retriever. Michael enjoys reading, traveling, and engaging in activities that spark his son’s interest.
